How Do I Experience the Depth of Prayer?
Gabriele, the prophetess and spiritual ambassador of God for our time, explained this question in the Cosmic School of Life on January 14, 2001.
The Divine world gave us the Inner Path, and among other things, the soul prayer. What does “soul prayer,” or “let the soul pray” mean?
We should accompany our prayers from our head, from our brainwaves, with the question: Is what I am praying for my nature, my character? Or am I praying in a totally abstract way, just simply to pray? When we pray for our neighbor and watch ourselves with our intellect while we do it, we will often see that what we send to our neighbor, the other person, in prayer, is something that we do not even bear in ourselves! We pray, for example, for peace in the heart of our neighbor – and are without peace ourselves.
At the beginning of our soul prayer, we therefore practice examining and monitoring ourselves with our intellect: If I pray for peace in the heart of my neighbor, then I must switch gears and say, “Hey, my friend, you don’t have any peace yourself!” And then, step by step, I will find out what makes me lacking in peace, which people I am against and why.
And then I have the possibility to briefly note this down during my soul prayer, so that after my prayer I can get rid of it. In this way, we very gradually find our way from our head to our heart. Our prayer grows deeper; it becomes more fervent. Why? Because by clearing up our sinfulness – we also call it our all-too-human aspects – we also get rid more and more of what makes us restless, so that the brain cells, the consciousness and subconscious, become purified. Then, peace draws into the brain cells more and more, and with this, the step-by-step fulfillment of the laws of God. In this way, we attain the so-called heart prayer, or soul prayer. We pray more and more from our heart, based on the experience of our own ego.
By clearing up our human ego, we experience the depth of prayer. And in the depth of prayer, the love for God awakens little by little. A certain experience is awakened, that God guides us, that God is in us: that God is not something abstract, outside of us, but w i t h i n , in us. We learn, that the great Spirit is active in our soul and, via our purified brain cells, radiates to us what we have placed before Him. This means that we have placed our all-too-human aspects before Him, and out of the all-too-human aspects He radiates to us His law, which we then fulfill step by step.
Through this, our trust grows, and from this trust, grows the love for God. We no longer feel alone – especially in the soul prayer. We notice that we begin to build an i n n e r communication, from the head to the heart, to the soul, and from the soul, to the core of being, to God in us.
This communication is what we then call the soul prayer. It is the soul and the person that is praying to GOD in the very basis of the soul.
